A 6 foot square glazed turret at the roof peak (over dining) floods natural light into the living areas that has a easterly view orientation. The Garage & covered decks & entry porch are additive elements to the square footprint. Engineered roof trusses made the main roof & turret straightforward to construct. The clients who live in California intend to reside in the coast home during the summers.
McNee Residence (Pender Harbour)
Close to the waterfront as possible enables the clients to watch over their newly constructed boat dock. Within the budget they wanted a 1500 sf rancher main floor layout to include a 2 car garage & a walk out basement & shop. The narrow steep driveway dictates the garage location to the south end with the kitchen, dining & living (at the middle octagon bay) & 2 bedrms. Roof trusses & simple floor framing keeps the budget in line.
Converse/Webb Residence (Halfmoon Bay)
Japanese architecture has some influence with this timber frame hybrid waterfront home. The site constraints contributed to a compact 1060 sf Main floor footprint.
